The Mourning Has Begun

For any of you with children in a Mother's Day Out Program, you know how sad this week is. The Programs end until August - 3 months away!!! I spoke with another mom today and she said she is wearing black on Friday - yes, it is that depressing. While I love my children to death, there is just something wonderful about getting a morning away - a chance to feel like an adult again! The kids love it too because they get to play with kids their age, make crafts, play outside, sing and learn all kinds of things. It is a win-win! See how sad Levi and his buddy Aaron are?

Every year, I like to give gifts to the teachers because I honestly think Levi and Kara have been extremely fortunate to have teachers that love them about as much as I do. I typically give flowers, but this year I tried to be a little more creative. I went with a plant (since it would last longer) and had the kids put their finger prints all over the pots. It didn't turn out exactly how I imagined, but I thought it was pretty cute.

Here are some of my favorite people:
Levi's teachers - Ms. Jeanette, Ms. Lisa and Ms. Mandy

Kara's Teachers - Ms. Laresa, Ms. Melissa and Ms. Suzie

These ladies are wonderful - Thank you!!
I'm always looking for good teacher gift ideas, so if you have any, please let me know (especially if you are or were a teacher!). Or, if you just need a place to mourn, go right ahead...

I am in mourning because I wish I had a Mom's Day out place!! Especially since the tantrum throwing seems to have begun...

Those plant ideas are great teacher gifts! My very favorite teacher gift I got was a cheap, simple black frame that the mom had hot glued a decorative ribbon to the corner. Then she asked the girl to tell her all the reasons "Miss Joy is Special Because..." So, in the words of a 4 year old, I got the sweetest, inexpensive (yet adorable) gift and I still have it displayed today!

I got a giving tree from my class one year...it was a little Christmas tree with gift cards in place of the ornaments...get it? So cute!

I will begin official MMO mourning next weekend. Noah still has a week left. And I am thinking I will get his teachers gift cards.
