Here's where it gets entertaining. As I said earlier, we have started potty training. This has been a learning experience for me two-fold. 1) Trying to teach a toddler how to know when to go the bathroom and 2) Exactly how this process works for a male (it is not something I see everyday!). So, I'm trying my best to figure out how to transition Levi from sitting down to standing up. My friend Jenn recommended that we take Levi outside so you don't have to worry about "aim" at first. What a great idea!! So today, since we were already outside and Levi has to go to the bathroom, we go to the edge of the woods, I hold up a towel (he prefers to always have the door closed at home) and wait. Nothing. Thinking he doesn't have to go, I drop the towel, he turns around and faces all the onlooking spectators and lets her go. Gotta love it. At least he went standing up, right?
Any other suggestions? I'm all ears. I need to try Cheerios in the toilet tomorrow.

remember all the potty training i did with daycare? here's what we did: cheerios in the toilet, aim at one sheet of toilet paper in the toilet, or my personal favorite, tell him to "Make Bubbles" in the water -- the little boys seem to love trying to aim and make bubbles! -- joy
So funny! Hopefully Fern will be completely potty trained by the time we get her so we will have a little time before we have to worry about that with Rosa.
All I have to offer is be aware that you will need to clean the toilet like, everyday. With two boys I will tell you that boys are messy. yuck! So just be prepared with the toilet cleaner and don't put anything near the toilet that you don't mind being sprayed! haha Another bald truth of motherhood!One of my boys peed through a wrapping paper tube once but not cause I let him, he figured out that game on his own. I thought it was funny but didn't think I should really encourage it!It's an adventure.
Wish I could offer some help, but we are only as far as buying a toddler potty as of yesterday.

We're potty training too! It's fun isn't it? I'm just letting Isaac run like a jaybird around the house - he gets most of it in the pot when he needs to. The only time he has trouble is with the no. 2
And for that - well, that's what crayons are for (they stick them in it if I'm not fast enough, lol)
As for aim - hmmm....we're working on that as well. His aim is worse the harder he tries, so I don't know. I just clean a lot. I keep a towel in there on the floor and a rug in front of the toilet that he wipes his feet on when he's done. I change them out every day. Kinda gross, but oh well. It's not going to kill them, right? :)
Things to look forward too. I've heard of Joys before, except its a boat or something boyish that won't flush that they can "aim" at. I think they actually market these toys as such...:) I've also seen the "third" child run around naked during their training. Parents really just give up or get smart at that point :)
Lol, we do the naked thing for Isaac and he's only my first. Cheaper than buying pull-ups, eh?
I love all these ideas! My favorite has to be the wrapping paper tube - HILARIOUS! I think I'm just going to have to let Levi wear underwear and do it by trial & error. Now that we have laminate flooring, it will be easy to clean up!
