Two kids with Grandparents + Ten of our Friends = One Fantastic Weekend

This past weekend, Garet and I traveled to Destin, FL to a beautiful house with 5 couples from our Life Group. I really didn't want to come home. I had never been to the beach in October, but I quickly decided this is my absolute favorite time of the year to go. The weather was AMAZING! Not too hot, not too cold and blue skies. I could have laid on the beach forever! I got to sleep in, read to my hearts content, shop without strollers and enjoy adult conversation at dinner! I didn't take too many pictures, but I borrowed a few below.

Because I have fabulous friends that like to cook for me, we enjoyed grilled steaks with all the fixins around the huge table at our house one night:The guys and their volleyball tournament. Don't let the intensity fool you, the volleyball has a smiley face on it:

Dinner at Pompano Joe's. The weather was PERFECT:Garet and I never take pictures of just the two of us anymore. Thankfully, Heather reminded me to take the sunglasses off my head:

It is trips like this past weekend that remind me how important it is for Garet and I to get away every so often. We are so fortunate to have parents close-by that can watch the kids for us (thank you!!) and friends that want to go on vacation with us. Only 360 days until the next beach trip - not that I'm counting!

I'm counting!!! Guess it's good we didn't go since Bill ended up sick, but it would have been fun.
